Besides this blog, I also run Travel To Merida, a great source for Merida travel blogs and Merida Mexico expat blogs.
I’ve lived in Merida Mexico since 2019, and think mine is the best blog covering this city, though there are other blogs about Merida.
If you’re visiting Merida with kids, I recommend the Mexico Cassie blog, as Cassie has kids and I don’t. She lived in Merida for years, but has been all over Mexico.

This Pacific Coast town is one the best hidden gems in Mexico, and the best resort towns in Mexico.
She is a diver, so if you’re looking for blogs about diving in Mexico, you’ll find those as well.
Shev is nomadic, but lives in Huatulco for much of the year, and her Shev Strolls is the best Huatulco blog I’ve come across online.

Yes — For the majority of travelers, Mexico is safe. I have traveled solo to half the states in Mexico, and felt safe doing so.

As someone who lives in Mexico, I’m clearly biased with this answer!
Beyond my biases, Mexico is the sixth most biodiverse country in the world, so you can enjoy beaches, rainforests, waterfalls, deserts, mountains, rivers, tacos 😆 and more, all in the same country.
Beyond landscapes and nature, there’s amazing annual festivals like Day of the Dead on November 1-2.
Mexico is known to have some of the friendliest people of any country, and with a great inter-country bus system and low-cost airline carriers, it’s easy to travel within Mexico.
What’s the best time to visit Mexico?
It depends — Mexico is a large country, so the best time to visit will depend on where you’re traveling.
In general, you get the best weather on Mexico beaches from about November to April. The cities of Mexico, mostly located in Central Mexico, are nice all year long.
